For the past 10 years, the DOE has supported Community-Based Activities on a regular basis throughout the year, considering that the activity is initiated and implemented by the community. Moreover, one of the main requirements for the community projects is that it must be focused on improving the environment within the community.
Each year, the DOE has assisted clean-up activities, especially those that encourage the youth to be more involved in their community and have civic pride. In addition, the DOE has also assisted urban, but especially rural communities with environmental awareness activities that promote continued commitments in protecting the environment and conserving Belize’s natural resources.
The DOE remains committed to supporting community-driven activities and now introduces its community outreach application process. To be able to benefit from the above-mentioned activities and more, community leaders and others in Belize can apply using the application form.
